Morning Musings in the Hills

--

This poem echoes into the contemplative minds of a child and an adult as they sit by a river amidst the lush, forested hills during monsoon

The pines stand tall as the river flows,
Clouds drift by in a quiet show.
Morning light dances with the monsoon breeze,
Billy waits for dinos in the trees.

Linda sits in morning’s grace,
In the hills, her thoughts embrace.
“Do you think a dino’s near?”
Billy’s words, so light and clear.

Linda ponders youth so free,
Emotions reek, but dreams decree.
Success can tire, as family can too,
Yet, peace of mind, the goal is true.

We strive and toil, with hope entwined,
For, in the end, it’s peace we find.
Yet deep within, where dreams reside,
True peace abides, a serene tide.
